Breyer GmbH Develops New Encapsulation Film Extrusion Line for PV Modules

Breyer GmbH has introduced a new extrusion system, CellProtect, allowing for the production of low shrinkage EVA and POE encapsulation film at high production speeds.

CellProtect has no interlayer film, making its production economic and energy-saving. Encapsulation film produced on regular extrusion lines has a natural shrinkage which affects the laminating process and can result in destroyed wafers, thereby creating waste and increased production costs.

Breyer’s CellProtect line makes it possible to extrude EVA film and POE at high speeds by keeping the shrinkage low and avoiding tension in the film from the beginning of the manufacturing process.

Module manufacturers using low tension film are able to run their laminators in a faster and more stable fashion for reliable and efficient manufacturing.
