Elawan Energy SL has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google, which will act as the off-taker of the electricity generated by a 37-MWdc solar project.
Elawan, the Spain-based renewables company, is currently in the advanced stages of development for its solar project, based in Hill County, Texas. The company anticipates commercial operations to begin in 2026.
According to Renewables Now, Elawan currently manages an operating portfolio of over 300 MW across the United States, including regions of ERCOT, SPP, and PJM. The recent addition is part of Elawan’s strategy to expand across North America.
The PPA was facilitated through LevelTen Energy Accelerated Process, or LEAP, a clean energy procurement process co-developed by Google and LevelTen Energy.
The company’s global portfolio contains 1.8 GW of renewables that are operational and around 8 GW that are currently in development.
