The renewable energy-powered RAA Snowton EV charging station has won the award for best EV charger, in a contest that saw over 80 nominations during the Australian Electric Vehicle Association’s (AEVA) annual meeting.
The Snowton station provides a priority bay for people with disabilities and pull-through charging for EVs, towing boats, trailers, and caravans.
It is equipped with three CCS2 200kW and one CHAdeMO 200kW chargers as well as a type 2 7kW as a backup.
According to the The Driven, the Snowton EV charging station offers many amenities for travelers, including shelter for charging vehicles, good lighting, access to a shop and restrooms, and a priority charging bay.
“AEVA congratulates the RAA and Ampol for demonstrating what’s possible, and what all charge-point operators can strive to offer,” said Dr Chris Jones, AEVA national president. “This award seeks to show the public and industry what EV drivers appreciate in a high quality charging station.”
