Sakuu, a leading provider of commercial-scale equipment and battery manufacturing technologies, has announced it will enter into a joint development agreement with SK On, a global manufacturer of EV batteries.
The partnership represents a substantial milestone as Sakuu and SK work to advance next generation battery solutions.
A core tenant of the companies’ agreement includes the industrialization of the dry process Kavian platform.
Sakuu’s revolutionary dry-process manufacturing and electrode printing eliminates the use of solvents and enables new battery manufacturing processes that make way for cost-effective and higher performing batteries that are also eco-friendly.
The companies’ goal is to create a new transformative technology that will be the new gold standard for battery manufacturing.
“Together, SK On and Sakuu are ushering in a new era in battery manufacturing technology, advancing safety, sustainability, and innovation in battery technology,” said Robert Bagheri, founder and CEO of Sakuu, in a statement. “With Sakuu’s pioneering technology and SK On’s best-in-class EV battery manufacturing expertise, we’re addressing the core issues facing battery makers today.”
