In light of Shell Recharge deactivating its EV charging software, a new alliance has formed between Zevtron, ParkMobile, and Athena Partners Strategy Group to prevent widespread service disruptions.
The joint initiative plans to transition charging stations that will be affected to a new platform before Shell’s software goes offline on April 30. The group wants to ensure site owners don’t experience a disruption in service and is throwing in additional operational capabilities, as well.
Zevtron will implement its white-label EV charging software to restore functionality to stations reliant on Shell’s network. The move will provide site hosts with enhanced flexibility through customizable branding and upgraded management tools. They will have more control over pricing, access, and reporting, as well.
The integration of ParkMobile’s payment system will also streamline the EV charging experience for drivers. They will be able to pay for charging sessions through its platform, which many drivers may already use in order to pay for parking.
Athena Partners Strategy Group is overseeing the transition. It will work directly with property owners, businesses, and municipalities to ensure the implementation goes smoothly by facilitating immediate continuity.
According to E+E Leader, Athena Partners sees the initiative as more than just a short-term fix; they view it as an opportunity to build a more resilient and efficient charging network. They are aiming to provide site owners with a long-term strategy to streamline operations and create new revenue opportunities in the EV market.
