Estuary Power has closed a $340m financing package for the Escape Solar project, located in Lincoln County, Nevada.
The project will feature 185MW of solar PV capacity with 400MWh of battery energy storage capacity.
The solar-plus-battery-storage will provide clean energy to four customers under long-term agreements. 115MW of solar and 400MWh of storage will go to MGM Resorts International, 25MW will go to Overton Power District, 25MW is allotted to Caesars Entertainment, and 20MW will go to Wynn Las Vegas.
According to Power Technology, the solar array will be built by Bechtel Infrastructure and Power Corporation; Dashiell will handle the substation and certain transmission upgrades. The BESS is being supplied and installed by Tesla; JinkoSolar is providing TOPCon PV modules.
“I am incredibly proud of the Estuary Power team for developing the Escape project with quality and integrity and on an astonishing timeline. We greatly appreciate the trust that our customers have placed in us to meet their sustainability goals,” said Estuary Power CEO, Jill Daniel, in a statement.
As the first utility-scale solar project in Lincoln County, Escape is expected to generate $80m in tax revenue for the county during its operational life. Currently under construction, the project will commence operations in 2025.
