For the past decade, residential and commercial customers have been utilizing distributed energy resources like solar, batteries, and EVs. However, to ensure grid flexibility and the efficient use of DERs, these devices must be connected to share data and be responsive grid participants.
One of the most difficult parts of orchestrating DERs is integrating them in the first place. The integration piece gets even harder as the space continues to grow and diversify. The DER segment is becoming more fragmented, not less.
Derapi CEO Stina Brock and Honeywell’s Salman Sheikh will provide an overview of the challenges faced when integrating to DERs, with a particular focus on solar PV inverters, solar-plus-storage systems, and batteries at the residential and commercial level.
The discussion will include tips for reducing time to market when integrating via API and lessons learned from the integrations in this space. Additionally, Supratim Srinivasan, CEO and co-founder of Atma Energy, will delve into how solar-plus-storage solutions, VPP programs, and customer education and value proposition initiatives can be leveraged not only for residential benefit, but also as a strategic grid asset to ensure we’re making the best of solar energy to build a greener world.
